Movies/TV shows

The show starts with a twenty-something Clark Kent goes to work as an intern for the Daily Planet, where he meets his new best friend Jimmy Olsen—and the bright and driven Lois Lane. But as Clark gets closer to Lois, he also risks her finding out about his secret identity.
July 7th:
Biosphere
Theaters
This movie, starring Mark Duplass and Sterling K. Brown, is going to be an odd one. Described as a “post-apocalyptic buddy comedy,” the movie follows two friends, Billy and Ray, who are trapped in a self-contained biosphere doing scientific research as the world outside ends. If these two last men on earth are to save humanity, then they’ll have a lot of growing up to do.
July 8th:
Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War, season 1 part 2
Hulu
This sequel series to the popular anime and manga, Bleach (considered the 3rd best anime of all time), follows the story of the adventurous Ichigo Kurosaki after he was given the powers of a Soul Reaper, which allows him to protect humans from evil spirits. Picking up where the anime left off, this sequel series seeks to tell the manga’s final and longest story arc: The Thousand-Year Blood War.
July 9th:
Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead, season 1
Netflix
When the Zombie Apocalypse finally happened everyone was devastated—except for Akira Tendo, who realized that the upside of the world ending is that he no longer has to go to his awful job. Now, as Akira runs for his life to avoid his flesh-eating neighbors, he realizes that he has never felt so alive.
July 12th:
Record of Ragnarok, season 2 part 2
Netflix
When the gods decide that humanity has run its course, they decide to give the humans one last chance to prove that they don’t deserve annihilation by competing in the greatest gladiatorial combat of all time. The season so far has pitted Hercules against Jack the Ripper and Raiden against Shiva, but the battle against vengeful gods is far from over.
July 13th:
The Devil is a Part-Timer!!, season 2 part 2
Hulu
In another world, the Demon King Satan was overthrown by the beautiful hero Emilia before he fled to our world with his top lieutenant. Now, the Devil goes by Maou and works part-time at MgRonald’s in Tokyo while the hero, Emi, works answering phones. They’re both still enemies, but together with their friends and daughter (it’s a long story), they’re committed to protecting the earth from the demonic and heavenly forces who want to control it.
July 19th:
Hailey’s On It!, season 1
Disney+
Hailey is your typical 14-year-old girl whose life is turned upside down when a scientist from the future tells her that she must complete a list of impractical and impossible tasks, including kissing her best friend Scott, in order to save the world. But dealing with zany tasks and her complicated feelings for her best friend aren’t her only worries—while everyone wants her to succeed, there’s someone from the future who doesn’t.
July 21st:
They Cloned Tyrone
Netflix
After witnessing a young man gunned down in the street, an unlikely trio tracks down the killers in a secret basement where they find that the victim—looks just like one of them. Mysteries abound as the rabbit hole gets deeper and the trio delves into a government conspiracy filled with murder, absurdity, and cloning.
Oppenheimer
Theaters
This biographical thriller follows the life of J. Robert Oppenheimer, the theoretical physicist who helped develop the atomic bomb. As the body count continued to rise during the height of the Second World War, the US government sought to build a nuclear weapon—before the Nazis could.
Barbie
Theaters
After experiencing an existential crisis (and having her feet become flat), the ever-perfect Barbie realizes that she has to leave Barbie Land to experience the “Real World.” Now, the doll of a “perfect” woman is meeting people who used to play with her as a kid, people who hate what she represents, and greedy businessmen who want to keep her as a doll forever.
… Oh, and Ken’s there too.
July 24th:
Futurama, season 11
Hulu
Ten years after its (most recent) cancellation, the crew of the Planet Express ship are back! Hulu has promised more of Fry and Leela’s romance, Nibbler’s litter box, “the secret history of Robot Santa,” and the show’s usual assortment of tales inspired by current events—so expect something about the pandemic, vaccines, cryptocurrency, and much, much more.
July 25th:
Justice League: Warworld
Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Prime Video
Kidnapped and taken to a strange planet by some powerful villain, Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman find themselves in strange environments as they mount a resistance against an evil authority. As Superman finds himself in a black and white film noir where he must use a machinegun against monsters, Wonder Woman steps into the shoes of an Old West gunslinger, and Batman draws a sword to join forces with barbarian warriors in a fight against an even more savage enemy.
July 27th:
The Dragon Prince: The Mysteries of Aaravos, season 5
Netflix
Book Five: Ocean sees the band of heroes (including the young King of Katolis, the Dragon Prince, and the unfortunately tasty Bait) try and stop the dark mage Claudia from freeing the evil and manipulative Aaravos. But as the friends search for the missing clues, High Mage Callum—the only human to wield primal magic naturally—is worried. Aaravos has already taken control of him before because of his ties to dark magic… could he do it again?
The Witcher, season 3 part 2
Netflix
Part 1 of season 3 hasn’t even dropped yet, so talking about what’s going to happen in part 2 is… tricky. If season 2 was anything to go off of, then this season will be a very loose adaptation of Andrzej Sapkowski’s second Witcher novel, Time of Contempt, which sees the Northern Kingdoms try to provoke a war with Nilfgaard, the mages of Aretuza try to recruit Ciri, and Geralt learns the consequences of neutrality.
Paradise
Netflix
In the not-too-distant future, where a person’s lifespan can be transferred from one person to another, a young woman named Elena is forced to give up forty years of her life to a rich CEO to settle her overwhelming debt. But her husband finds out that the procedure can be reversed, so the two of them set out to kidnap the woman who literally took Elena’s life.
July 28th:
Good Omens, season 2
Amazon Prime
The archangel Gabriel has gone missing… from heaven, that is. The rogue agent Aziraphale managed to find the amnesiac angel naked at his London bookstore. Teeming up with the demon Crowley (who didn’t so much as fall as he sauntered vaguely downward), the duo will have to keep the memory-wiped archangel hidden from both heaven and hell if they are going to figure out what happened… and prevent a war.
Captain Fall, season 1
Netflix
Jonathan Fall was both delighted and surprised to receive a job offer to captain a luxury cruise ship. After all, he did receive the record for the lowest score at the naval academy. But his first-mate is really hot even if the rest of the crew and guests are oddly aggressive, and it’s not like he’s working for a globe-spanning cartel using the ship to smuggle everything from drugs to uranium and who is only using him as the perfect “Fall Guy” in case things go sideways. Right?
Miraculous: Ladybug & Cat Noir, the Movie
Netflix
After the awkward teenager, Marinette Dupain-Cheng discovered a magical jewel called a Miraculous, she was able to turn into the vigilante superhero known as Ladybug. But she isn’t the only one with a Miraculous, as she is joined by the enigmatic Cat Noir—who, unknown to both of them, is not only Marinette’s classmate (and crush) Adrien but is also the son of the supervillain Hawk Moth.
This movie promises the origin story of the crime-fighting duo from the hit kids’ tv show Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir.
Haunted Mansion
Theaters
When a single mother and her son discover that the old mansion they’ve moved into is haunted, they decide to get rid of the ghosts by hiring a paranormal investigator, a priest, a psychic, and a college history professor.
