Welcome to the season of love, Geeks!
It’s the shortest month in the year, but we’ve got a lot of new geeky stuff coming your way. From the final season of Star Trek: Picard, a new way to play video games, and another novel from Samantha Shannon, February is going to be one heck of a ride.
Without further ado, let’s dive right in.
Movies/TV shows:
February 1st:
The Ark, season 1
Dean Devlin, the man behind Leverage and The Librarians, is back with a new show on Syfy. Set over a hundred years in the future, the passengers of the starship Ark One must band together to fix their ship after a catastrophic event leaves them stranded far from both Earth and the colony they were trying to reach.
But as the crew bands together to save their ship, they must ask an important question: the explosion that almost killed them… was it really an accident?
February 2nd:
Freeridge, season 1
This Netflix spinoff of the teen comedy On My Block features four new characters in this return to the fictional community of Freeridge, CA where four friends—Cameron, Demi, Gloria, and Ines—discover a strange box that may or may not be cursed.
February 8th:
Not Dead Yet, season 1
From ABC, and streaming on Hulu, comes the show about a self-described disaster who moves back home to restart her career and her life only to find that the only job she can land is writing obituaries. Her job is made much worse by a mean boss, a passive-aggressive roommate, and the ghosts of the people she writes about haunting her until she writes their obits correctly.
February 9th:
Harley Quinn: A Very Problematic Valentine’s Day Special
Gotham’s Cupid of Crime is at it again in this HBO special as she and her partner, Poison Ivy, plan to spend their first February 14th together. But when Harley gives Ivy a… ahem, really great orgasm, it unleashes a powerful spell that sets the whole city of Gotham to, well, boinking.
This special will also feature the love lives of Bane and Clayface and their terrible experiences in dating, Zatanna Zatara and the Flash getting it on, Darkseid’s cold and dead-eyed significant other, and the proposal of the Riddler and the Clock King.
And if you’re wondering what you and your significant other can do for Valentine’s Day, check out our article on a Geek’s Guide to Valentine’s Day here.
Or maybe you’d like some awesome Movie and TV relationships to aspire to (like these ones), or we can all cozy up with characters that should have ended up together (lookin’ at you, Finn and Poe, and check out more here).
February 10th:
Wingfeather Saga, season 1 part 2
Things have gone sideways in the land of Skree as the evil Fangs now abduct kids. At the same time, the three Igiby children have discovered a secret cache of illegal weapons inside a haunted manor and the battered Slab has snuck into the Igiby cottage and stolen jewelry, hoping that they are the fabled Jewels of Anniera.
This family-friendly show continues on the Angel Studios website and on Youtube, with the remaining two episodes streaming on February 24th and March 10th. Part two of season 1 promises to deliver more Fangs, more Zouzab, and, most importantly, more Peet the Sockman.
February 16th:
Star Trek: Picard
The Paramount+ story of Star Trek’s Admiral Picard comes to a conclusion with the return of the Next Generation’s original cast, including LeVar Burton, Michael Dorn, Jonathan Frakes, Gates McFadden, and Marina Sirtis.
But that’s not all. The season’s villains include the new Captain Vadic, the alien commander of the warship Shrike, which starts off hunting Beverly Crusher, a return of the holodeck nemesis Moriarty, and Data’s evil twin brother, Lore.
February 17th:
Carnival Row, season 2
Revolution is in the air for Amazon Prime’s Victorian fantasy. Inspector Philo is called back into action by the constabulary of the city-state of Burgue, who has uncovered an attack on a supply train that could only have been carried out by the city’s Fae populace, who are forced to reside in the ghetto known as Carnival Row.
Killings and violent repercussions mount on both sides as Philo and his Fae lover, Vignette Stonemoss, try to stop the city from devolving into chaos.
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania
This next addition to the MCU features a return of everyone’s favorite size-changing duo. Struggling with the time he missed out having with his daughter, and having been sucked into a portal, Scott Lang falls victim to the machinations of Kang the Conqueror (played by Jonathan Majors of Lovecraft Country fame). Obviously, Kang, trapped in the Quantum Realm, is a villain, but can he give Scott back the time with his daughter?
February 24th:

After a sacred ring is stolen by a greedy archaeologist from a pyramid, it is up to four mummies—a princess, a charioteer, his little brother, and their pet crocodile—to leave their underground world of eternal rest to journey to modern London to reclaim the Royal Family’s ring.
We Have a Ghost
When Kevin’s family moved into their new home, they never figured it might be haunted. They also never figured that posting videos of the ghost, whom they’ve named Ernest, would make them social media sensations. But when Kevin and Ernest start digging up the mystery about Ernest’s past, they definitely never thought they’d become targets of the CIA.
